Hey SJWC,

First of all, I just wanted to thank you guys for starting this club.  My first game at the PIC was the buffalo game.  I also went for the TB game, GB, and of course, the Super Bowl.  What a great place for a Giants fan.  Anyway, on giants.com they are advertising a draft day 5K at Giants Stadium.  You can run or walk it and you end up on the field at the end.  There's going to be some Giants there, prizes, food, and you get to stay there and watch the draft.  I just signed up.  I thought some fans from SJWC might be interested.

Also, I couldn't make the super bowl replay a few weeks ago.  Is there anyway i could get a copy of the super bowl?

Thanks,

John

i gotta say,i've been going to the pic for about 5 years now.one day i saw a tiny sign right above the lcd tv in the middle of the bar(where i always sit).it was a giants sign, something you just dont see living here in south jersey.i looked up the website, and started coming on sundays.it was wild to see how a small group of maybe 10 people tops, grew to be so damn huge!the playoffs this year was mind blowing.if you didnt get there an hour before the game, there pretty much wasnt a seat for ya and you became "the rowdy ones" standing up.thank you colin and the crew, and the pic for making this happen.ive spread the word and this year alone i gathered up another 10 people to rock out with us at the pic.i hear you do a draft day gathering, dunno how exciting that will be compared to this season, but i'll be there...with my new Osi pro bowl jersey!

thanks guys,
mike c

Q1) Tell us what you think.
I hear some guy Rob is going there today. This guy was a Giants fan his whole life up until two years ago, became an eagles fan because it was "easier to be an eagles fan in SJ". Now he's a giants fan again. I guess that's easier now...

Hey, nice website.  I stopped at Pic's on Saturday afternoon with my wife for a few cold ones and some excellent wings.  Was sitting there at the bar and saw your website poster above the bar.  I asked the bartender if alot of Giants fans stop here and he said there is usually more Giants fans than Eagles fans.  I said "EXCELLENT I think I found me new home".  Being a transplant from North Jersey 25 years ago it's great to see a Giants stomping ground.  Hope to get back to Pic's and catch a Giants game.

From Rick in Pittsburgh

The Giants have an attractive schedule ahead of them over the next few weeks, with possibly the toughest stretch behind them. The Giants offense, as I already noted, is off to a strong start. More specifically they are ranked 15th in air game and sixth on the ground (with their starting RB sidelined 3 and a half games). They must have been facing some weak defenses, right? Wrong. Their opponents average pass defensive ranking is 7th in the NFL, while the average run defensive ranking is 6th! That is an average of combined average defensive ranking of 5.5th. Where does that stack up against the rest of the NFL? Second, behind the winless New Orleans Saints (4.5). How about a comparison with the undefeated Cowboys, a team that is being treated like the eventual Super Bowl champions by the national media. The Cowboys have gone up the 30th ranked pass defense over the course of the first five games while going up against the 28th ranked run defense. Interesting……..

This tells me that as good as we think this offense is, they’re even better. We have a WR that can be mentioned in the same breath as any in the game not named Randy Moss. We have a dual rushing attack that has been a top six unit despite a major injury to the top back and opponents that combine for the 4th best run defense in the league. We have an offensive line that has had plenty of experience with each other and has been regarded as a top 5 unit by Troy Aikman. We have a franchise QB that is coming into his own and has vastly improved with a more coherent offensive system. The pieces are in place for this unit to carry this team to the NFC Championship at least. But those numbers were not the biggest surprise that Mike gave us.

The Giants are ranked 16th against the pass and 5th against the run. Considering what we saw in those first two games, you can’t help but be extremely impressed with that. They have gone up against an average of the 4th best passing attack and the 12th best rushing attack, which averages out to be the 8th best offensive attack. The Saints have had the roughest road in terms of the opposing offense followed by the Titans and Eagles. Then our G-Men and Redskins are tied up in 4th place. How bout dem’ undefeated Cowboys? They have faced the WORST, I repeat, the WORST passing attack through the first five weeks while going up against the 24th ranked running game which averages out to the second easiest schedule in terms of defense. Only the Steelers have had an easier start with the ball in their hands than the overrated Cowboys.

While we have a ways to go before I can honestly say I’m completely confident in the Big Blue defense, there is reason to believe they are being underrated/overlooked by everyone. The confidence is now there for these guys and the results are following. The confidence will likely grow as our future looks bright over the course of the next three weeks where we will be facing some of the worst offenses in the league that happen to be a part of the same team that hosts weak defenses as well according to the rankings and injuries.

Now, the point of this is not to put the Giants ahead of every team in the NFL power rankings across the nation. But here we are, considered to be a middle of the pack team with our 3-2 record. But we have faced the third toughest defensive schedule in the NFL and 4th toughest offensive schedule in the NFL and still remain in the top 6 in ground game rankings on both sides of the ball and top 16 in the passing game on both sides of the ball. If you aren’t mightily impressed with that, then you don’t know football. There is legit reason to be very optimistic about this team considering their current record, their current injury situation, and these rankings that favor the Giants in every way. Evenly important, the Cowboys should not be feared. They have played pee-wee football teams and barely beat us at home despite major injuries on both sides of the ball. The Giants are in a groove right now and it should continue over the next three weeks heading into the bye week. Anything worse than a 6-2 record would surprise me and by then, the identity of this team will be sky high. What they do with it will be up to them because of they play up to their ability, there isn’t a team in the NFC they can’t beat.

Rick from Pittsburgh (GO G-MEN)

Have a HAPPY DAY

I was just standing in for your wife!!   Did you see that wall yesterday?  The photo is in, make a point to check it out.  Hey, what's going on for the game this weekend?  Are you going?  So funny, this guy at the bar (Eagles fan) last night went to your website to get tidbits on going to the game at the Meadowlands.  He saw your link (and EVERYBODY tells me they see it)  so he looked to it for advice.  Thought it was funny, some complain & then others think it's pretty cool.  That is the Eagles fans, the Giants fans love it!  I am glad to be apart of it!

PS Again, actively looking for another bartender.....  (my advice show up with a Giants Jersey,  Colin)
